About project

Research system for dynamics and quality studying of economic growth of near-border regions

An important factor that determines direction and dynamics of socio-economic change for many Russian regions, in particular for the new merged sub-federal unit of the Russian Federation Trans-Baikal Territory, is the position of this border area and its cross-border cooperation with Mongolia, China, as well as a high potential for cooperation with other APR countries. According to the project a research and information system (RIS) should be created and distributed in the form of multi-disciplinary free access Web-resource. The development of RIS would be based on the research of quality indicators of growth and development of appropriate mathematical models during the past 15 years. Developed general-service database, cartographic database and geoinformational analysis systems are also needed for management decisions, predictions, and for the purposes of education and enlightenment.

Expected results: Establishment of a many-component research system and multi-disciplinary free access Web-resource. Under RIS new research methods and techniques concerning the growth quality of regional economy will be posted. Speeches at conferences of different levels are also assumed as well as publication of a series of articles outlining the results of research and developments. Recommendation development for practical use for state administration bodies and other organizations and users.

The project is elaborated by a team of authors of the Institute of Natural Resources, Environment and Cryology SB RAS in collaboration with the staff of Daursky Reserve Area, Chita State University, financed by  Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation (project number 08-02-12101v).
